Business Unit Director - Companion Animal

This role is for a Business Unit Director in the Companion Animal division of Merck Animal Health. The primary focus is on end-to-end commercial leadership, including strategy, sales, marketing, financial performance, and people management for the companion animal portfolio. It requires significant experience in commercial roles within Animal Health or related industries, with a strong emphasis on leadership, P&L management, and strategic planning.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and deliver the Companion Animal business strategy, including short‑ and long‑term growth plans aligned with Animal Health enterprise priorities.
  2. Lead annual priorities and execution plans, forecasting, and resource allocation to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability targets.
  3. Lead and develop the Companion Animal sales organization, including regional managers, key account managers, and field teams (structure may vary by market).
  4. Oversee brand strategy, lifecycle management, and launch excellence for Companion Animal products.
  5. Full P&L ownership for the Companion Animal business.

What the JD emphasized
