The Buyer, ADAS role at Ford is responsible for leading commodity sourcing and commercial strategy for Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS). This involves developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, and ensuring supply chain resilience for ADAS components across vehicle programs. The role requires strong negotiation, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills within the automotive industry.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and execute ADAS commodity strategies that improve cost competitiveness, supply resilience, and program success.
  2. Lead sourcing execution across ADAS vehicle programs, ensuring alignment from concept through launch.
  3. Build and manage cost roadmaps, identify savings opportunities, and drive value through negotiation and design optimization.
  4. Manage Tier 1 ADAS supplier relationships, driving performance across cost, quality, delivery, and capacity.
  5. Analyze ADAS market trends, pricing indices, and supply-demand dynamics to inform sourcing strategy and mitigate risk.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain roles
  • 3+ years of experience working within the automotive, electronics, or semiconductor industries
  • Strong experience in supplier negotiations and commercial management
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in cost analysis and sourcing decisions
  • Solid understanding of purchasing systems, policies, and program lifecycle
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate effectively with senior leadership

Nice to have

  • Prior experience managing ADAS, electronics, sensing, or software technologies in the automotive or consumer electronics industries
  • Knowledge of automotive supply chain structure, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 supplier networks
