Buyer – Aluminum / Raw Materials

This role is for an experienced Aluminum Buyer to support the production and delivery of autonomous surface vessels for the U.S. Department of Defense. The buyer will be responsible for strategic sourcing and procurement of aluminum raw materials, identifying and managing suppliers, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality materials. The role requires collaboration with production, engineering, and planning teams to forecast demand and align material specifications. It offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge maritime technology and national defense capabilities.

What you'd actually do

  1. Source and procure flat-rolled aluminum and ingots to meet production requirements and cost targets.
  2. Monitor and analyze aluminum market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply-demand dynamics to inform purchasing decisions.
  3. Develop, manage, and strengthen relationships with existing suppliers; identify the need for new suppliers to maintain a resilient supply base.
  4. Negotiate pricing as required to achieve optimal commercial outcomes.
  5. Collaborate with production, engineering, and planning teams to understand material specifications and forecast future demand.
