This role involves avionics systems engineering for the C-17 aircraft, focusing on the Flight Management System (FMS). Responsibilities include analysis, design, development, testing, verification, and validation of avionics systems, as well as supporting fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle. The role requires experience in system requirements, electronic/electrical system design, and verification/validation processes, with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field.

What you'd actually do

  1. The given tasks will broaden upon candidate’s knowledge in aviation, including leading areas such as navigation and localization (position awareness), guidance a6B1nd flight controls, and federal and military regulations and policies, and will expand as the candidate grows within the domain. This job will build expertise in aircraft technologies that are both industry standards and C-17 specific.
  2. The primary subject matter for this role will be the Flight Management System, which is responsible for Flight Planning/navigation, guidance, control, display, and automation of aircraft.
  3. Works with customers and leads internal teams to develop and document complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
  4. Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
  5. Oversees, tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
