Cable & Wire Harness Technician Level 3

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Cable & Wire Harness Technician 3 to support their Space Systems Division. The role involves fabricating and assembling complex space flight cable and harness assemblies according to drawings, schematics, and engineering sketches, adhering to government specifications and workmanship standards. The technician will work in an ESD and FOD awareness area, using tools like soldering irons and hand tools. Collaboration with manufacturing engineers, quality assurance, and production planners is expected. A U.S. Government Secret security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Capable and experienced in working in a broad-based manufacturing environment.
  2. Technician will work with a team including Manufacturing Engineers, Technical Writers, Quality Assurance Representatives, and Production Planners. Technician will report to the Manufacturing Manager.
  3. Must work well alone and within a team environment
  4. Must possess good problem-solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and work with limited supervision
  5. Must be a self-starter, must be self-motivated, and a team player

Skills

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office products and process documentation

Nice to have

  • Aerospace Industry manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with TipQA, Costpoint, Windchill, MES, Creo
  • A strong understanding of wiring processes, crimping, splicing, wire routing, and assembly techniques as it applies to IPC standard harness assembly operations
  • Familiarization with ESD, FOD, 5S, and Tool Control required
  • NASA J-STD and/or IPC 620 certifications w/ Space Addendums
