Calibration Technician

Joby Aviation is seeking a Calibration Technician to manage and perform tool calibrations and repairs for their Marina location. This role requires a strong background in calibration methodologies, standards (including NIST), and quality management systems. The technician will maintain calibration standards, perform tests, calibrations, and repairs on precision equipment, and assist in developing calibration procedures. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential.

What you'd actually do

  1. Maintain primary and/or intrinsic calibration standards.
  2. Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards.
  3. Complete tests, calibration, and upgrades to precision equipment.
  4. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision equipment.
  5. Assist in developing calibration procedures and methods, according to detailed specifications, blueprints, drawings, and other technical requirements.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of calibration experience
  • General math and algebra functions
  • Basic Statistics
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Technical writing ability
  • Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Quality Management systems (AS 9100, ISO 9001, ISO 17025)
  • Self-motivator, work as a team player, and follow written procedures
  • Great interpersonal skills

Nice to have

  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)
  • Experience within the Aerospace industry
  • 1 year of experience in a testing or laboratory environment
