Meta is seeking a Camera Hardware Integration Engineer to design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for consumer hardware. The role involves full product lifecycle collaboration, schematic design, board layout, debugging, and supporting manufacturing. Experience with camera module electrical subsystems, HW-SW integration, and AI tool integration for workflow optimization is required. The position also emphasizes responsible and ethical AI practices.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own electrical development of complex subsystems or moderately complex systems, under guidance from technical leads or managers
  2. Lead schematic design, board layout, and cross-functional design reviews
  3. Propose innovative solutions to enhance system or product performance, reliability, and features
  4. Manage hardware bring-up, debugging, and support for manufacturing, assembly, or deployment
  5. Evaluate vendor reference designs and adapt them to Meta’s requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical field, and/or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical design
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and troubleshooting complex electrical systems or subsystems
  • Proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical schematics, designing physical layouts (e.g., PCBs or panel/plant layouts), and/or performing hardware/system bring‑up and debug at the lab or field level
  • Experience collaborating across engineering disciplines and with external partners or vendors
  • Consumer electronics experience and/or working within a mass-production environment
  • Experience with end-to-end development of camera module electrical subsystem, system integration, and validation from the concept phase to mass production
  • Experience with high-speed interfaces, signal integrity analysis, EMI trade-offs, or thermal validation in compact, power-constrained wearable form factors
  • Experience integrating complex camera subsystems into system-level hardware platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Experience with circuit design across analog, digital, power, and communication domains
