This role conducts complex workplace investigations with a focus on harassment and discrimination. Responsibilities include policy analysis and providing recommendations for senior management.

What you'd actually do

  1. Must independently conduct a high-volume of complex, high-risk, neutral workplace investigations on allegations that an associate may have acted contrary to Walmart Canada’s directive and applicable law, including related decisions or recommendations regarding discipline up to and including termination.
  2. Must effectively manage high-stress workplace conflicts between parties involved in the investigation, in addition to prioritizing urgent or high-risk issues that overlap.
  3. Must effectively communicate to senior management and legal counsel their investigation findings, directive application, and related recommendations both verbally and in writing.
  4. Responsible for reaching appropriate conclusions in accordance with applicable employment laws, including rapidly developing human rights jurisprudence.
  5. Responsible for appropriately handling highly sensitive confidential information about associates and customers.

  • Bilingual - French and English
  • Complex writing skills of a legal nature
  • Ability to be neutral and calm during stressful interviews on sensitive issues
  • Ability to analyze complex interpersonal issues and articulate findings clearly and appropriately
  • Ability to manage a high level of stress and interpersonal conflict on a daily basis
  • Ability to learn new business areas quickly
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision, manage time and produce a high volume of work within tight deadlines
