Candidate Experience Specialist, Contractor

This role is a contract position for a Candidate Experience Specialist at GitLab, focusing on managing the candidate journey from initial contact to offer. The role involves collaborating with recruiters, coordinating interviews, maintaining applicant tracking systems, and acting as a brand ambassador. While the company emphasizes AI as a productivity tool for all employees, this specific role is not directly involved in building or deploying AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with Recruiters, hiring teams, and Recruiting leadership to understand and execute the hiring plan for each job requisition.
  2. Coordinate with Recruiters to maintain accurate, up-to-date hiring process information in the applicant tracking system and GitLab repositories.
  3. Manage candidate scheduling and act as the Recruiting Coordinator to organize interviews and keep hiring processes running smoothly.
  4. Ensure candidates receive timely, thoughtful, and engaging communication at each stage of the hiring process.
  5. Create and stage employment contracts for candidates receiving offers on behalf of hiring managers and Recruiters.

Skills

Required

  • Experience supporting end to end hiring processes in partnership with recruiters and hiring managers, ideally in a fast paced or high volume environment.
  • Skill using an applicant tracking system to schedule, track, and move candidates through interview stages
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, scheduling tools
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally with candidates and internal stakeholders at all levels, including executives.
  • Demonstrated strength in organization, time management, and prioritization, with a consistent focus on meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with team members across time zones and functions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Interest in learning about talent acquisition and contributing to an inclusive hiring process that attracts a qualified, diverse, and motivated team.
  • Alignment with GitLab's values and comfort working in an all remote, asynchronous environment, including flexibility in your working hours to support candidates and hiring teams across multiple time zones, with openness to transferable experience from related coordination or operations roles.
