Capacity Planning Analyst role at Ford focused on ensuring North American Manufacturing plants have adequate supply base capacity to meet market demand. Involves data analysis, reporting, and collaboration to identify constraints and recommend solutions. Supports various planning initiatives and data requests for purchasing and scheduling teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct Demand vs. Supply Base Capacity Assessments as needed to ensure supply base capacity is aligned with demand signals, included Monthly Production Programs, bi-annual Financial Planning Volume (FPV) data sets, and ad hoc what-if scenarios, includes informal demand analyses and regular updates of Volume One-Pagers.
  2. Execute Powertrain Supply Base Confirm Capacity Studies. Funded studies in support of new vehicle program and/or new powertrain capacity requirements or production volume increase/remix initiatives. Includes upfront study development, study creation and execution, and post- study support for purchasing vetting activity.
  3. Execute What-If Study and/or Desktop Analysis Scenarios. Support vehicle program initiatives and/or engineering changes. Includes upfront study development, study creation and execution, and post- study support for purchasing vetting activity.
  4. Support Powertrain Program PA Volume Development. Use FPV demand, carryover supply base capacity, and powertrain plant production capacity signals to help Forward Model Capacity Purchasing develop PA volumes for upcoming powertrain programs
  5. Support Purchasing with Capacity Requirement Data requests: Create analysis of capacity vs demand data for supplier clarification.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of equivalent experience and education
  • 1+ years of experience in Supply Chain & Logistics or Capacity Planning or Manufacturing
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Strong Excel Skills)
  • Experience with Power BI, tableau, etc...
  • Data mining experience

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Global Capacity Planning and Manufacturing Capacity Planning systems
  • An understanding of the business practices and systems impacting volumes (WERS/PDL/iERP) is preferred.
  • Product/Consumer Marketing, MP&L, Pre-Production, Purchasing and/or PD Project Management experience is desirable.
  • Strong leadership behaviors, with a systemic process-oriented mindset
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to lead and facilitate discussions amongst cross-functional teams
