This role is a Capacity Planning Manager for Amazon's Pickup & Returns team, focusing on building and delivering consensus demand plans across global marketplaces, with a strong emphasis on Europe. The manager will develop and maintain forecasting tools, models, and scalable processes to improve forecast accuracy and drive sales strategies. Key responsibilities include building demand planning models, providing risk analysis, driving process improvements for demand planning tools, reviewing historical sales trends, researching demand drivers, validating sales inputs, developing statistical forecast models, evaluating forecast results, and collaborating with various stakeholders (product management, sales, marketing, finance, channel owners) to understand demand drivers and impacts.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build demand planning models and provide risk analysis based on “what if” scenarios to drive strategic decisions and publish a consensus financial forecast.
  2. Be a leader in driving process improvements and automation for demand planning tools to reduce manual data aggregation and increase visibility to the forecast analysis.
  3. Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, validate sales inputs, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results for both tops down and bottoms up planning.
  4. Work closely with channel owners to understand the nuances of each unique sales channel and reconcile significant variances, refine forecasts to reflect updated sales and marketing strategies, and reduce forecast model variance across channels.
  5. Dive deep with product management, sales channel owners, marketing, and finance to understand demand forecast drivers and the downstream impacts of forecast changes.
