Ford is seeking a Category Implementation Buyer for Crankshafts, Balance Shafts, and Dampers. The role involves establishing and strengthening global supplier relationships, understanding program sourcing, leading sourcing processes to meet program targets, driving cost optimization, leading design competitions, managing supplier issues, and developing commodity strategies, particularly for the ICE to BEV migration. The buyer will apply category management skills, lead commodity knowledge and market intelligence, manage Total Value Management (TVM) activities, and lead program sourcing contracts and strategy development. The role requires strong business acumen, leadership, negotiation, and analytical skills, with experience in purchasing policies and systems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Application of category management skill set to optimize the commodity and sourcing strategy.
  2. Lead for commodity knowledge and market intelligence including cost, bill of process, etc.
  3. Lead TVM activities (NA and global lead/coordination) including objective setting and delivery.
  4. Lead Program sourcing activities (Sourcing Contract)
  5. Lead sourcing strategy development and execution.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
  • 1+ years of experience strong working knowledge of Purchasing policies, procedures, and systems
  • 1+ years of experience strong business and commercial acumen and excellent written and verbal abilities.
  • 1+ years of experience strong leadership skills and ability to work in teams.
  • 1+ years of experience strong interpersonal skills including relationship building and working cross functionally.
  • Strong analytical skills (sourcing evaluations, business case studies)
  • Strong negotiation skills (creating leverage in both offensive and defensive situations)
  • Cost analytics (understand commodity cost drivers, part cost breakdowns, Gap-to-OCE)
  • Strategic mindset and the ability to understand current challenges facing the automotive industry
  • Fully competent with Microsoft Office Tools
  • An ability to travel on company business as require
