This role is for a Category Manager focused on mechanical equipment for data centers within an AI infrastructure company. The responsibilities include developing and managing equipment initiatives, negotiating contracts, managing budgets and schedules for data center construction, and working with suppliers. The role requires experience in managing Capex budgets and working in a fast-paced environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Responsible for developing, executing, and managing Data Center equipment initiatives for a variety of direct and indirect mechanical products.
  2. Responsible for negotiating and supporting complex programs for Chillers, CRAH’s, Fan Walls, CDU’s and other Electrical equipment as needed.
  3. Manage equipment schedules, budgets and cost to support large new Data Center construction activities.
  4. Drive integration and development of new and existing suppliers to ensure collaboration and ease of doing business.
  5. Lead supplier onboarding and selections based on cost analysis/lead time tied to a RFP.

Skills

Required

  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Experience managing similar-sized Capex budgets (+$100hundreds millions)
  • Proven track record of success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while supporting key stakeholders.
  • Ability to get things done while completing assigned tasks within deadlines
  • Bachelors degree

Nice to have

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Based in San Francisco, CA, Sunnyvale, CA, Seattle, WA or Denver, CO with the ability to work in an office multiple times a week.
