Intern position in a materials science lab at Caterpillar, focusing on metallography testing, sample preparation, process tracking, and safety. Requires a Bachelor's degree in materials or mechanical engineering, good communication and English skills, and basic programming knowledge (Python, C, Access, VB).

What you'd actually do

  1. 熟悉掌握一种或者几种材料的测试方法，能够按照操作规程安全地完成相应的材料测试工作；
  2. 协助实验室金相工程师完成样品测试的整个流程追踪，包括但不限于客户需求确认，根据图纸信息转化测试方案，测试样品的标记，检测样品制备方案的计划讨论，检测进度的跟踪协调，检测结果的初步确认；
  3. 参与实验室的安全保障活动包括但不限于安全5S行走，安全审核，安全话题分享，持续改进监督等，通过及时制止不安全的行为，及时认可安全的行动来营造卡特彼勒安全第一的企业文化；
  4. 参与实验室的PQVC（人员，质量，速率，成本）活动，提供持续改进建议并参与到解决过程中；

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in materials or mechanical engineering
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Good English ability (fluent reading and writing, daily communication)
  • Basic office software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Basic programming knowledge (Python, C, Access, VB - one is sufficient)

Nice to have

  • Team leadership experience
  • Materials related testing technology and operation experience
  • Computer Level II certification
