Certification Engineer I

Certification Engineer responsible for interpreting regulatory standards, advising engineering teams, preparing test plans, coordinating testing, and ensuring product compliance with global standards (UL/ULC, EN, ISO, FM) within a regulated environment. Requires a BS in Engineering or Computer Science and basic understanding of electrical circuits.

What you'd actually do

  1. Interpret regulatory standards and advise engineering teams so they meet product requirements
  2. Prepare test plans, setup systems, coordinate testing and obtain approval results with agencies
  3. Perform software & hardware testing to identify performance gaps & improvement opportunities
  4. Maintain product & equipment compliance to latest changes from UL/ULC, EN, ISO, FM and other global standards
  5. Resolve manufacturing audit concerns by providing accurate & complete information

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
  • Basic understanding of electrical circuits and electrical physics

Nice to have

  • 1 year of experience with new product development or in an electrical/electronic testing laboratory
  • Capability to analyze requirements & manage product compliance from application to approval
  • Strong problem-solving skills: prioritize, identify root causes & take corrective actions
  • Ability to use or learn and use lab equipment and relevant software. Examples include using oscilloscope, developing loads, dielectric testers, transient machine, environmental
  • Recognized proactive team fostering behavior & passion to get on time results
  • Proven experience to engage multidisciplinary teams to resolve problems
  • Established skills to organize logistical challenges, prioritize concerns & manage resolutions
  • Excellent communication skills, effective verbal & written English proficiency
  • Basic MS office knowledge
  • Knowledge of the New Product Development process of electrical, electronic, or electro-mechanical products
