Chief of Staff, Ceo

Handshake · Enterprise · San Francisco, CA · General & Administrative

This role is a Chief of Staff to the CEO at Handshake, a company that has launched an AI business focused on providing data for AI training. The role involves driving the CEO's operating rhythm, leading strategic initiatives, building analytical foundations for decisions, and producing executive communications. While the company has a significant AI business, this specific role is not directly involved in building or shipping AI models or systems, but rather in supporting the CEO and the company's strategic growth, including its AI initiatives.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive the CEO's operating rhythm — from board prep and executive staff meetings to annual planning — so decisions get made and priorities stay clear across the company
  2. Lead high-stakes cross-functional initiatives (GTM alignment, org design, IPO readiness) from ambiguous idea to structured execution with clear owners and measurable outcomes
  3. Build the analytical foundation behind key decisions by interrogating complex datasets, modeling financials, and distilling insights into crisp, actionable recommendations for the CEO and board
  4. Produce world-class communications — board decks, investor memos, all-hands narratives — that represent the CEO's thinking with precision and reflect Handshake's strategy externally
