Chief of Staff - Responsible AI (coreai)

Microsoft Microsoft · Big Tech · Redmond, WA +4 · Business Management

This role is for a Chief of Staff within Microsoft's Responsible AI organization. The primary focus is on designing and managing the business operating system, including operating cadences, decision management, performance rhythms, and process optimization for hiring and execution. The role emphasizes building scalable mechanisms and resolving friction points to enable leaders and teams to operate effectively at scale within a fast-moving, highly visible environment. It is an individual contributor role focused on operational excellence and business processes, not direct AI/ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Architect and run RAI’s operating cadence, including leadership team rhythms, planning cycles, business reviews, and offsites.
  2. Partner with senior leaders to structure agendas, capture decisions, document trade‑offs, and ensure consistent follow‑through on commitments.
  3. Design and run annual and quarterly business rhythms (goal setting, progress reviews, calibration, talent discussions), ensuring leaders have clear data and narratives to support timely decision‑making.
  4. Improve end‑to‑end hiring workflows (intake, prioritization, readiness, coordination) in partnership with recruiting and business managers, without owning headcount tracking.
  5. Build and maintain lightweight processes, tools, and templates that connect strategy to delivery while minimizing operational overhead.
