Child Exploitation Investigator, Cybercrime Investigation Group, Victim Identification

This role focuses on investigating and disrupting child exploitation on Google platforms, identifying victims, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders including law enforcement. It involves analyzing data from various Google product ecosystems and recommending improvements to systems or operational processes. While machine learning experience is preferred, the core function is investigation and data analysis, not AI model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conduct investigations involving child exploitation and child sexual abuse material detected on Google infrastructure.
  2. Triage incoming leads and conduct research and analysis to assist with identification and location of subjects and victims.
  3. Navigate internal technical infrastructures to extract and correlate data from various Google product ecosystems for subject attribution.
  4. Manage multiple tasks and investigations simultaneously while documenting and communicating results to relevant stakeholders.
  5. Conduct external outreach with law enforcement, government officials, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and industry partners to disrupt child exploitation.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience viewing and assessing child sexual abuse material in an investigative capacity.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree or PhD.
  • Experience with machine learning.
  • Experience working with policy teams.
  • Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g. Python).
  • Experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal) and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.
