The CI Buyer for Vehicle Electronics at Ford is responsible for sourcing high-quality parts and services globally, optimizing costs, and ensuring on-time delivery to maintain a robust supply chain for vehicle production. This role involves category management, market intelligence, leading sourcing strategies, and cross-functional collaboration with product development, finance, and supply chain teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Application of category management skill set to optimize the commodity and sourcing strategy
  2. Lead for commodity knowledge and market intelligence including cost, bill of process, etc.
  3. Lead TVM activities (NA and global lead/coordination) including objective setting and delivery
  4. Lead Program sourcing activities (SOBA & CPA)
  5. Lead sourcing strategy development and execution

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or other related fields of study
  • Strong analytical skills (sourcing evaluations, business case studies)
  • Strong negotiation skills (creating leverage in both offensive and defensive situations)
  • Cost analytics (understand commodity cost drivers, part cost breakdowns, Gap-to-OCE)
  • Strategic mindset and the ability to understand current challenges facing the automotive industry
  • Strong working knowledge of Purchasing policies, procedures, and systems
  • Fully competent with Microsoft Office Tools
  • An ability to travel on company business as required
