Claims Investigative Specialist

This role involves investigating and verifying the validity of insurance claims, particularly for automobile accidents. Responsibilities include determining coverage, liability, and damages, as well as identifying subrogation or fraud potential. The specialist will adjust and negotiate claims within their authority, analyze information, and apply knowledge of insurance policies and company procedures. Customer service and collaboration with other departments are also key aspects of the role.

What you'd actually do

  1. Handles investigation regarding all aspects of auto claims (coverage, damages, subrogation) with the exercise of discretion and independence within increased level of authority
  2. Applies intermediate understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department.
  3. Determines subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle.
  4. Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills.
  5. Recognizes and identifies body parts of a vehicle and understanding of other potential property damage.
