Pfizer is seeking a Clinical Development Medical Director to provide medical and scientific oversight for clinical trials in Internal Medicine. This role involves ensuring data integrity, quality of trials, and managing medical aspects of study deliverables. Responsibilities include medical monitoring, safety data review, protocol development, interactions with Health Authorities, and clinical guidance for data collection and analysis. The position may also involve managing and mentoring other clinical colleagues.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provides medical monitoring on one or more clinical trials:
  2. Provides timely, study-related medical information and guidance, e.g., on:
  3. Conducts and documents periodic safety data review and ongoing clinical/medical data review
  4. May independently lead clinical execution of one or more studies; may be accountable for program level clinical deliverables
  5. Represents the study team in internal protocol review governance submissions and interactions; partners with/supports the Global Development Lead in study and disease area strategy; may participate in protocol-related KOL and Health Authority interactions

Skills

Required

  • MD, DO, MBBS, or MBChB degree
  • 4+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical industry in clinical research and development
  • Licensed to prescribe medicines independently for at least 2 years post intern/house officer/foundation period

Nice to have

  • Cardiometabolic disease experience
  • Extensive knowledge of clinical research in study design, start-up, conduct, and close-out
  • Regulatory submissions and inspections experience
  • Scientific productivity via publications, posters, abstracts and/or presentations

What the JD emphasized

  • primary medical degree (e.g., MD, DO, MBBS, MBChB)
  • licensed by a licensing body/health authority to prescribe medicines independent of Supervision for at least 2 years post their intern/house officer/foundation period
  • maintained registration/Medical License to practice and always have been in good standing with their Medical Licensing Authority
