This role focuses on medical annotation and quality assurance for AI/ML healthcare data projects, requiring clinical expertise and attention to detail. The primary responsibility is to ensure the accuracy and integrity of medical annotations, supporting the development of healthcare solutions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Perform medical annotations following established guidelines, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  2. Review annotations for quality, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.
  3. Conduct quality assurance checks on annotated clinical datasets, maintaining high standards.
  4. Apply clinical knowledge to validate healthcare concepts and relationships in annotated data.
  5. Support clinical review processes for AI/ML projects, reviewing outputs and documenting findings.

Skills

Required

  • Clinical experience or education in nursing, medicine and surgery, pharmacy, laboratory sciences, respiratory therapy, health information management, medical coding, or another healthcare-related field.
  • Familiarity with clinical documentation and healthcare terminology.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare workflows and patient care processes.
  • Ability to accurately interpret clinical documentation and healthcare concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new systems, processes, and technologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the US healthcare system

Nice to have

  • Exposure to data annotation, quality assurance, healthcare analytics, AI/ML, NLP, or healthcare technology projects.
  • Exposure to electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Experience reviewing healthcare records, quality measures, clinical documentation, or medical coding.
  • Familiarity with healthcare terminologies such as ICD, CPT, SNOMED CT, LOINC, or RxNorm.
  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare, life sciences, health informatics, or related field
