This role is for a Sales Director focused on the Public Sector for Microsoft's Azure Cloud & AI Platform. The primary responsibility is to lead and mentor sales teams, engage with senior decision-makers in government, education, and healthcare to drive strategic cloud and AI initiatives, and accelerate sales opportunities. The role requires strong sales leadership, business acumen, and technical depth across Azure infrastructure, data, AI, and application innovation. Key activities include defining territory strategy, identifying growth opportunities, orchestrating cross-organizational efforts, and managing sales pipelines and forecasting. While the role is within an AI-focused platform, the core function is sales leadership and strategy, not direct AI/ML development or research.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define territory strategy, identify whitespace, and align sales to customer priorities
  2. Lead development of AI- and cloud-based transformation solutions for customers
  3. Coach teams to qualify, progress, and close opportunities
  4. Drive accurate forecasting and pipeline health across teams
