Cloud Development Environment Engineer

Salesforce Salesforce · Enterprise · San Francisco, CA

Software Engineer to join an AI-First organization focused on building and optimizing cloud development platforms that embed AI capabilities into developer workflows. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing AI-augmented platform components, prompt engineering, validating AI outputs, and building resilient cloud infrastructure for AI agents.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and Orchestrate AI-Augmented Developer Platforms: Architect, develop, and implement core platform components that integrate with approved AI models and MCP gateway to create highly efficient, end-to-end developer workflows, enabling Hybrid Development Workflows.
  2. Prompt Engineering and AI System Context: Proactively identify systemic bottlenecks in workflows and enhance AI agent capabilities by writing clear, structured prompts and communicating system context effectively to produce quality output.
  3. Rigorously Validate AI Outputs: Critically evaluate, audit, and validate AI-generated code, designs, and documentation, ensuring security, performance, and adherence to architectural standards (Critical Evaluation & Validation).
  4. Build Resilient Cloud Infrastructure for AI Agents: Engineer scalable, reliable, and efficient remote development environments on cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), including designing intelligent CI/CD frameworks.
  5. Drive AI Fluency and Adoption: Function as a 'multiplier' by championing and building AI tools and capabilities, ensuring other engineers can leverage them for rapid software development and issue remediation.
