This role is for a Cloud Platform Administrator at Boeing, focusing on building and operating cloud platform services that host critical enterprise applications and software toolchains. The candidate will define and implement platform standards for Kubernetes, container hosting, deployment automation, configuration management, and operational support, emphasizing platform reliability, repeatability, scalability, and service enablement. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud platform services, building reusable deployment patterns, developing automation for provisioning and upgrades, managing cluster lifecycle activities, supporting various shared platform services, and partnering with teams to onboard services. It also includes troubleshooting, supporting monitoring and logging, improving deployment consistency, establishing documentation, evaluating new capabilities, and providing mentorship.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, implement, and maintain cloud platform services supporting Kubernetes, containers, ingress, storage integration, secrets management, and service connectivity
  2. Build and sustain reusable deployment patterns for Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS), Open Source Software (OSS), and internally customized applications
  3. Develop and maintain automation for platform provisioning, upgrades, patching, and lifecycle support
  4. Manage cluster lifecycle activities including:
  5. Support Azure Kubernetes Service, OpenShift, Tanzu, or similar shared platform services

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering and/or product management
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • 3+ years of experience with GitLab, Azure DevOps and CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD)
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud, Containerization and Automation
  • Ability to obtain access to Special Access Programs (SAP)

Nice to have

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience hosting enterprise COTS/OSS applications on Kubernetes
  • Experience with Helm charts, operators, and container image lifecycle management
  • Experience with persistent storage integration and backup / recovery
  • Experience defining reusable platform standards for multiple teams
  • Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Azure Administrator and/or Azure Solutions Architect
