This role is for a Cloud Support Engineer for Amazon Web Services (AWS) European Sovereign Cloud (ESC). The primary responsibility is to provide customer support, troubleshoot technical issues, and act as a 'Cloud Ambassador' for AWS products. The role involves solving customer cases via various channels, applying troubleshooting techniques, and potentially coaching new hires, developing training, partnering with development teams, writing tools/scripts, and working on process improvement. Fluency in German and English is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Solving customer’s cases through a variety of customer contact channels which include telephone, email, and web/live chat.
  2. Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide tailored solutions for our customers and drive customer interactions by thoughtfully working with customers to dive deep into the root cause of an issue.
  3. Coach/mentor new hires, develop & present training, partner with development teams on complex issues or contact deflection initiatives, participate in new hiring, write tools/script to help the team, or work with leadership on process improvement and strategic initiatives to ensure better customer experience and compliance with global AWS standards, practices and policies.

Skills

Required

  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English
  • Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
  • National of an EU member state

Nice to have

  • Experience in system administration, and troubleshooting any operating system (Linux and/or Windows) and networking (HTTP/s, TCP/IP, DNS, OSI model, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, traceroute, iperf, dig, CURL or related)
  • Experience in one or more of the following: Big Data, DevOps, Security, Systems Administration, software development, cloud technology
