Comcast Network Engineer Co-op

Comcast is seeking a Network Engineer Co-op to support internal teams in coordinating and implementing engineering requests for capacity augments and network upgrades for the Backbone Network. The role involves design, configuration, activation, and operational support of Backbone Edge networks, acting as a liaison between entities and customers, and managing circuits from order entry to turn-up. The co-op will also work with 3rd party CDN providers to activate additional capacity.

What you'd actually do

  1. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.
  2. Determines resources, technology and course of action to achieve results
  3. Works with project management to deliver capacity/solutions that meet or exceed requirements and schedules.
  4. Manage circuits from order entry through test and turn up.
  5. Create Comcast Network Maintenance tickets associated with Service Affecting (SA) and Non-Service Affecting (NSA) activity and accurately identify all affected circuits or network elements.

Skills

Required

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 22, 2026, through March 26, 2027.
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting

Nice to have

  • Experience with Cisco/Juniper routers is a plus
  • Experience in Network engineering is a plus
  • Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computing Technology
