GEICO is seeking a Commercial Business Developer in Tampa, FL to drive strategic sales initiatives for their business-to-business agency sales team. The role involves building agency relationships, providing guidance on GEICO products and services, and helping agencies achieve sales targets. What you'd actually do

  1. Deliver strategic sales initiatives with a defined territory of agencies and build their book of GEICO business through approved underwriting practices.
  2. Use their strong ability to influence, along with analytical and decision-making skills to provide guidance and support that promotes preference for GEICO products and services.
  3. Act as a subject matter expert of product lines and systems to provide recommendations that improve customer experience, sales closure, and retention with new and existing customers in the business-to-business space.
  4. Help their agencies achieve sales targets through actionable goal setting and understanding of their business needs.

Skills

Required

  • 2 years sales/consulting experience
  • prior experience with commercial insurance OR relevant commercial auto and trucking industry experience
  • Highly effective oral and written communicator
  • Ability to work individually and as a team collaborator with strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience interpreting and analyzing data to make informed decisions that support growth initiatives
  • Knowledge of industry changes, technology, and desire for continued learning
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent

Nice to have

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Prior experience working with Independent Insurance Agents
  • Prior experience with caseload management and customer follow-up
  • Prior experience working with different lines of insurance a plus (P&C, Commercial, Life/Health)
