Experienced Commercial Counsel to support complex commercial transactions, including SaaS, licensing, and strategic partnerships, while navigating legal and regulatory frameworks in the AI field. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating agreements, partnering with sales teams, monitoring legal developments, and developing contract templates. Requires strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and IP, with experience in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales transactions in India, including enterprise customer contracts
  2. Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams to design and implement strategies that support high-growth go-to-market initiatives.
  3. Monitor and interpret evolving region specific legal and regulatory developments, including data protection, technology, and AI-related frameworks, and apply this knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment.
  4. Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to reflect regional requirements and industry best practices.
  5. Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams, tailoring advice to enable responsible growth and innovation.

Skills

Required

  • Law degree and qualification to practice law in India
  • 7+ years of relevant post-qualification legal experience
  • Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property
  • Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer issues
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines

Nice to have

  • in-house experience in technology or SaaS strongly preferred
