Commercial Counsel role focused on negotiating enterprise SaaS subscription agreements and ancillary documents, partnering with sales and legal teams, and advising on business and operational policies. The role involves exposure to cutting-edge SaaS technology areas including privacy, security, and AI/ML.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review and negotiate customer subscription agreements and ancillary documents such as DPAs and BAAs.
  2. Partner with a seasoned legal team to provide practical and decisive guidance to internal business teams.
  3. Coach sales team members on strategies for negotiating with customers.
  4. Support the ongoing improvement of our contract templates, playbooks, and processes.
  5. Collaborate with other teams within the legal department and across the company to support Datadog’s acceleration of revenue generation and reduction of risk by being a trusted advisor, translating business needs to contractual commitments and legal advice.

Skills

Required

  • At least 4 years of law firm and/or in-house commercial transactional experience
  • Familiarity with negotiating SaaS contracts
