Commerical Counsel, Procurement

Superhuman Superhuman · Consumer · Hub - San Francisco · G&A

This role is for a Commercial Counsel, Procurement at Superhuman, an AI productivity platform. The role focuses on supporting companywide procurement and vendor agreements, partnering with various internal teams. It involves reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial procurement agreements, and contributing to the development of scalable legal processes and resources. The ideal candidate has legal experience with commercial contracts, a JD, and a genuine interest in building scalable legal review processes. Experience with AI tools and emerging technologies is a plus, but not core to the role.

What you'd actually do

  1. Review, draft, and negotiate a range of commercial procurement agreements, including licensing agreements, SaaS agreements, consulting arrangements, influencer agreements and supporting agreements such as BAAs, DPAs, and NDAs.
  2. Serve as the primary day-to-day legal owner for procurement matters, with support from the broader Legal team, and exercise practical judgment on when to resolve issues independently and when to escalate.
  3. Partner with Finance, Engineering, Marketing, Privacy, Security, and other cross-functional stakeholders on vendor onboarding, third-party diligence, contract risk, commercial terms, and procurement-related disputes.
  4. Identify opportunities to standardize, streamline, and scale legal review processes by developing repeatable workflows, templates, playbooks, and guidance that help drive faster, more consistent contract outcomes across the organization.
  5. Partner closely with Legal Operations to improve procurement intake, triage, automation, and self-serve resources so routine matters can move quickly and higher-risk matters receive the right level of legal review.
