The Trade Desk is seeking a Compensation Operations Analyst to support the administration and analysis of sales incentive compensation for approximately 1,500 employees. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely commission payouts, responding to inquiries, preparing financial analyses, and collaborating with various internal teams. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of experience in finance, analytics, or operations, strong Excel skills, and a detail-oriented approach.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the end-to-end administration of commission payouts for approximately 1,500 commissioned employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness across quarterly cycles
  2. Review and respond to internal commission inquiries and Jira tickets, resolving or escalating issues as appropriate while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and communication
  3. Prepare detailed quarterly analyses explaining employee variance from compensation targets and quota attainment
  4. Assist with financial modeling and scenario analyses related to the new commission plan including payout projections and seller motivation impact
  5. Work cross functionally with teams including Sales, RevOps, HR, Legal, and Accounting to support commission operations and ensure alignment across the business

Skills

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in finance, analytics, operations, or a related field
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to build and maintain complex models and analyses
  • Detail oriented with a high standard for accuracy especially when working with sensitive compensation data
  • Strong communicator who can translate complex commission concepts clearly to internal stakeholders at all levels
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Self starter who takes initiative and asks the right questions
