Compensation Program Manager

Asana Asana · Enterprise · San Francisco, CA · People Operations

This role is a Compensation Program Manager at Asana, a company that describes itself as a leader in human + AI collaboration. The role focuses on managing end-to-end compensation cycles, job matching, market pricing, pay equity analyses, and providing compensation guidance. While the company uses AI and the role mentions curiosity about AI tools, the core responsibilities are in compensation and HR, not in building or directly using AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead end-to-end execution of Asana's annual merit and focal review cycle, including modeling budget scenarios, partnering with People Partners on calibration, and ensuring accurate system processing in Workday.
  2. Own job matching and market pricing across functions using Radford, Pave, and Compa while maintaining salary structures and competitive ranges through regular refresh analysis.
  3. Partner with People Partners and Talent Acquisition to evaluate new and evolving roles, establish leveling consistency, and maintain a clean job catalog in Workday.
  4. Conduct pay equity analyses across the employee population, identify outliers, recommend corrective actions, and track progress against equity goals to support leadership reporting.
  5. Serve as a day-to-day compensation advisor to People Partners and Recruiters, providing offer guidance, promotion assessments, and retention recommendations grounded in market data and internal equity.
