This role is for a Compliance Counsel at Crusoe, an AI infrastructure company. The primary focus is on developing and executing the global compliance program, with a specific emphasis on the evolving regulatory landscape of AI. The role involves supporting Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), GRC platforms, international trade compliance, anti-corruption, and operational compliance, while also advising on AI regulations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the continuous improvement of our enterprise-wide ethics and compliance program.
  2. Help maintain corporate policies and contribute to compliance reporting for leadership and the Board of Directors.
  3. Support programs for global sanctions (OFAC, UK, EU), export controls (EAR), and import regulations related to our hardware and service supply chain.
  4. Assist with our FCPA/anti-bribery program, including third-party due diligence (KYC/KYB), risk assessments, and internal reviews.
  5. Advise on global data center operations, including supply chain integrity, geopolitical risk, and industry certifications (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001).

Skills

Required

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 5–10 years of legal experience with a meaningful focus on compliance
  • Solid foundational knowledge in Export Controls, FCPA/Anti-Bribery, or Technology/Commercial Compliance
  • Familiarity with legal and ethical considerations surrounding AI technologies, including bias, data provenance, and transparency
  • Strong ability to translate complex regulations into clear, actionable guidance for non-legal stakeholders

Nice to have

  • In-house exposure at a technology, industrial, or energy company is preferred
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CCEP, CAMS, or CIPP
  • Experience with or exposure to GRC/ERM software platforms
  • Experience in the technology, energy, or industrial infrastructure sectors
