Compliance Lead, Product Advisory

This role is for a Compliance Lead focused on product advisory within the fintech space. The primary responsibility is to identify and mitigate compliance risks in consumer-facing financial products, ensuring adherence to regulations like TILA and EFTA. The role involves close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams throughout the product development lifecycle, interpreting complex regulations, and providing practical guidance. Experience in financial services compliance, particularly with consumer products and relevant laws, is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Collaborate with the Product teams to optimize Affirm's offerings by identifying and mitigating compliance risks without compromising business objectives.
  2. Review and approve financial services marketing materials to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards.
  3. Partner cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Product to complete reviews and address root causes of compliance issues.
  4. Develop and maintain compliance training and reference materials.
  5. Operate in a fast-paced environment while delivering detailed and diligent work.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in a compliance product advisory role within financial services
  • Experience supporting or advising on products subject to TILA (Reg. Z) and/or EFTA (Reg. E) (e.g., credit cards, payments, or deposit-like products)
  • Experience working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and making risk-based decisions with incomplete information
  • Experience advising revenue-generating stakeholder groups, ideally including Product and Engineering teams
  • Working knowledge of consumer financial laws and regulations, including UDAAP, CAN-SPAM, FCRA, TCPA, TILA (Reg. Z), ECOA (Reg. B), EFTA (Reg. E), and TISA (Reg. DD)
