Boeing is hiring Composite Fabrication Specialists for their 787 production system in North Charleston, SC. This role involves interpreting drawings, following work instructions, and performing fabrication tasks with attention to detail and safety. Responsibilities include adhering to safety and quality standards, using various tools and chemicals, inspecting work, and working around potential hazards. Basic qualifications include experience in manufacturing/technical fields, using software, reading instructions/drawings, and physical ability to perform the tasks. Preferred qualifications include CNC experience and experience in aviation-related fabrication.

  • 1+ year experience following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, along with successful completion of training and knowledge assessments involving mathematical calculations, all conducted in English
  • 1+ year experience in a manufacturing, technical, or mechanical field, including equivalent military experience, performing work with basic hand, power, and/or pneumatic (air) tools
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of CNC experience
  • 3+ years of experience with conventional material layup, precision measuring, power, pneumatic and hand tools
  • 3+ years of crane operations experience
  • 3+ years of experience reading and interpreting drawings, specifications, material processes, schematic and diagrams in aviation
