Composite Senior Technician, Prototype (r4609)

Shield AI Shield AI · Defense · Dallas, TX · Production

This role involves the precision assembly, inspection, and testing of early-design stage wire harnesses, PCBAs, and composite structures for aircraft and aerospace systems. It requires adherence to stringent quality standards, technical specifications, and industry regulations like IPC/WHMA-A-620 and AS9100, contributing to high-reliability products for aerospace applications.

What you'd actually do

  1. Read and interpret aerospace schematics, technical drawings, and detailed work instructions.
  2. Measure, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables to precise tolerances using specialized tools and equipment.
  3. Assemble wire harnesses, connectors, backshells, and shielding components per aerospace industry standards.
  4. Perform composite assembly work including basic layup procedures, bonding, vacuum bagging, running cure cycles, etc.
  5. Perform visual inspections, continuity testing, and high-voltage insulation resistance testing to verify conformance to aerospace standards.
