Condition Monitoring Operations Manager

Manage a team of Condition Monitoring Advisors focused on improving machine uptime and reducing Total Cost of Ownership for Caterpillar's industrial equipment. This role involves overseeing daily operations, ensuring quality recommendations, managing team performance, and leveraging condition monitoring tools and analytics for proactive and predictive maintenance strategies.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the day-to-day operations of a fleet monitoring team consisting of 6–8 Condition Monitoring Advisors based in Peoria, ensuring timely execution and high-quality outputs.
  2. Deliver condition monitoring performance expectations for quality, velocity, and value across Job Site Solutions (JSS), Physical Availability (PA) Managed sites, Strategic Accounts, dealers, and Cat customers.
  3. Partner with the Condition Monitoring Deployment team to plan and execute new site coverage and coverage adjustments.
  4. Conduct regular performance reviews with process partners and customers, and drive internal communication of condition monitoring wins and value delivered.
  5. Collaborate with global condition monitoring teams to develop, share, and implement best practices.

Skills

Required

  • Experience supporting large earthmoving or mining machines, product support, or condition monitoring experience.
  • Strong understanding of customer operations and priorities, with the ability to align technical recommendations to business value.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess complex equipment data, identify trends, and guide effective decision-making using structured analytical tools.
  • Working knowledge of predictive maintenance and reliability engineering, with experience advising customers or internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and influence internal partners, dealers, and customers.
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Ability to operate in customer-facing environments, building trust with dealers and customers, and maintaining strong long-term partnerships.

Nice to have

  • Experience with equipment management strategies and enabling technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the technical, application, and operational aspects of large earthmoving and mining products.
  • Prior experience in a dealer- or customer-facing role (e.g., technical field rep, sales, ASR, account manager).
  • Formal leadership experience, or demonstrated informal leadership through cross-functional initiatives (e.g., project management, CPI, product development, or field roles).
