Conformity Coordinator Lead

Joby Aviation is seeking a Conformity Coordinator Lead to ensure aircraft compliance with airworthiness standards, manage configuration control, and support FAA certification. This role involves leading a team, collaborating with manufacturing and quality departments, and driving process improvements for aircraft build and flight testing.

What you'd actually do

  1. Conformity Inspections: Track conformed units and installations on the flight test aircraft. Provide feedback, support, and continuous improvement to the process at the manufacturing facility.
  2. Deviation Disposition: Remain cognizant of aircraft deviations or non-conformances; document, escalate, and drive disposition of findings in a timely manner
  3. Airworthiness: Work with the DAR and provide required documentation to support obtaining airworthiness tickets
  4. Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of conformity and configuration maintenance activities.
  5. Working closely with other company departments, primarily manufacturing, quality, airworthiness, and configuration management, to ensure that the airplane configuration and conformity meet the requirements for program objectives

Skills

Required

  • Experience with aircraft conformity processes
  • Experience with aviation manufacturing and inspection processes
  • Excellent problem solving, communication, coordination, technical writing, and record keeping skills
  • Strong organizational skills and highly detail-oriented
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and regulatory documents.
  • Proficient in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English required

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 27, and 29 regulations, policy, and guidance material
  • Knowledge of ASTM, RTCA, and SAE standards
  • Basic understanding of operations, pilot licensing, and mechanic licensing regulations and certification processes
  • Experience using Dassault, Atlassian, and Polarian software tools
  • Pilot experience or other experience with aircraft flight operations
  • Experience with Smartsheets
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Further education or certifications in aviation maintenance, quality, or related technical fields are a plus.
