This role focuses on developing and integrating connectivity solutions for autonomous construction machines, involving system testing and software development. Responsibilities include researching new connectivity solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, developing technical specifications, conducting feasibility studies, and troubleshooting connectivity systems. The role requires knowledge of product development, software/systems architecture, and data/systems analysis.

What you'd actually do

  1. Stay updated with the latest advancements in cellular, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN technologies and connectivity standards.
  2. Research new industry connectivity solutions that could be leveraged to further enable autonomous construction machines.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry standards.
  4. Develop detailed technical specifications and documentation for connectivity solutions.
  5. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to evaluate potential solutions and their impact on existing systems.

Skills

Required

  • Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Knowledge of relevant programming languages and tools
  • Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems
  • Knowledge of software product testing
  • Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques

Nice to have

  • Understanding of Network technologies and protocols along with connectivity standards
  • Understanding of the capabilities and limits of certain wireless technology (Wi-Fi, Cellular, unlicensed backhaul)
  • Knowledge and capability in the areas of SD-WAN, wireless link bonding, load balancing, network coding
  • Experience in software development and architecture (C++)
  • Linux/Ubuntu
