Microsoft is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of datacenter capacity for their cloud business. This role involves managing project execution across multiple sites, ensuring safety, quality, sustainability, schedule, and budget requirements are met. Responsibilities include project controls, program delivery, cross-functional collaboration, technical oversight, risk and safety leadership, vendor management, and executive reporting. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience, with a preference for 12+ years and data center project experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Monitors approved project budgets and oversees project controls (PERs, PSRs, change orders, pay apps), identifying risks and recommending adjustments to maintain financial discipline.
  2. Facilitates delivery of campus and metro-based construction projects through timely, ‑data driven ‑decision-making‑ in partnership with local teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment to Safety, Security, Quality, Schedule, and Cost priorities.
  3. Partners with CO+I and key Microsoft stakeholders to drive adoption of updated processes, improving cost savings, cycle time, and operational efficiency across programs.
  4. Reviews engineering documentation, designs, and site plans; identifies gaps and risks; and provides recommendations that improve constructability while adhering to security core priorities and standards.
  5. Represents Microsoft as a safety advocate by establishing risk mitigation metrics, supporting national safety goals, ensuring regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA), conducting audits, and contributing to incident investigations.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check
