Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) is seeking a Director to lead consulting engagements and Visa solution sell-in for a major client in Japan, focusing on their commercial (B2B) and acquiring business. The role involves supporting strategy development, driving key initiatives, leading innovation, managing client relationships, and guiding a team. Responsibilities include developing commercial business strategies, designing and enabling new acquiring solutions, supporting system PMO, building client executive relationships, ensuring high-quality project delivery by orchestrating cross-functional teams (including data scientists and solution specialists), coaching team members, producing thought leadership, and overseeing project administration and compliance. The role requires fluency in Japanese and English, 12+ years of experience in strategy consulting or payment business, team management experience, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive initiative development to support client’s commercial (B2B) and acquiring business growth and innovation by using Visa solutions and strategic consulting methodologies, such as setting key questions, formulating hypotheses, conducting deep quantitative analyses, and synthesizing strategic recommendations in alignment with internal stakeholders.
  2. Build and manage strong relationships with client executives, general managers, and key stakeholders to deepen partnerships and ensure client satisfaction.
  3. Ensure high-quality project delivery by leveraging consulting and/or team management skills, orchestrating cross-functional teams of diverse subject matter experts, including data scientists, solution specialists, and client service representatives in Japan and overseas.
  4. Coach, mentor, and develop team members, supporting their professional growth and maintaining high standards for project deliverables.
  5. Continuously build knowledge, uncover new insights, and produce thought leadership materials to support practice development and promote global best practices.
