ByteDance ByteDance · Big Tech · San Jose, CA · Operations

ByteDance is seeking a Content Operations Specialist for their Douyin XR streaming platform in the US and international markets. The role involves end-to-end operational management, including content curation, user growth initiatives, third-party app integration, and acting as the voice of the US user to R&D and Product teams. The specialist will also analyze key metrics and report on them, and engage with local XR creators and companies. Requires 3+ years of experience in content operations or app growth, deep understanding of US pop culture and streaming trends, fluent English and Chinese, and strong execution and analytical skills. XR experience and understanding of spatial environments are preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the daily content calendar for the US market. Hands-on selection of featured native XR content and 3D/2D video highlights to ensure the platform remains fresh, relevant, and culturally resonant.
  2. Execute localized campaigns to drive user acquisition, retention, and engagement. You will be responsible for creating in-app events, community outreach, and push notification strategies tailored to International user habits.
  3. Serve as the main point of contact for external streaming partners (e.g., YouTube, Netflix). Ensure their integration within our XR environment is optimized and troubleshoot operational issues to maintain a premium user experience.
  4. Act as the "voice of the US user." Work closely with the R&D and Product teams to provide feedback on UI/UX localization, feature requests, and regional bugs to ensure the app feels "native" to the US market.
  5. Independently track and analyze key metrics (DAU, Watch Time, Retention). You will be expected to turn raw data into actionable insights and regular reports for the global management team.
