Anduril Industries is a defense technology company seeking a Controls Engineer for their Manufacturing Automation team. The role involves designing, developing, and managing automated manufacturing systems, including PLC programming, integration with FactoryOS software, and troubleshooting automation failures. Requires 5+ years of experience in controls and automation, proficiency in PLC programming (Rockwell or Siemens), and knowledge of communication protocols. A U.S. Person status is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, develop, and manage controls systems for manufacturing – this includes initial factory ideation, machine commissioning, proof of rate capability, and eventual hand-off to sustainment teams
  2. Architect, write, and debug PLC code with an emphasis on generating code that is organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable for high-volume manufacturing applications
  3. Generate and enforce internal standards for control systems architectures, regulatory compliance, and safety buyoffs
  4. Integrate internal and external FactoryOS software into automation equipment and production lines
  5. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for automation failures, ensuring rapid resolution and long-term reliability

Skills

Required

  • PLC programming on Rockwell or Siemens platforms
  • Ethernet based communication protocols
  • Controls and automation in a production environment
  • U.S. Person status

  • Ignition SCADA development
  • MES and QMS integration
  • Servo drive and VFD configuration, PID tuning, STO/SS
