Manufacturing Engineering Technician II role at Caterpillar Remanufacturing focusing on supporting Value Stream Manufacturing Engineers in project implementation and daily operations. Responsibilities include developing print packages, tooling, fixtures, documentation, troubleshooting equipment, and evaluating/updating standard work.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support NPI and implementation of updated processes
  2. Support installation and run off of new equipment
  3. Trial and runoff of new tools and associated training of group leaders and operators
  4. Investigation and implementation of VS CI cards
  5. Assist in troubleshooting equipment problems

Skills

Required

  • PC skills including e-mail, Microsoft Office applications
  • Reading and understanding blueprints
  • Reading and understanding precision gauges/torque and torque devices
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Process flow diagrams, control plans, and PFMEA

Nice to have

  • 2+ years in mid-range engine assembly or paint processes
  • Experience working with bill of materials
  • Experience with military and marine engine assembly processes
  • Experience with paint and paint equipment
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Creo, Teamcenter, etc.)
  • Associate's/Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing related field
  • Currently enrolled in or desire to pursue additional education in a manufacturing related field.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • High degree of accountability for product and processes
  • Ability to learn new products and processes and to evaluate and recommend improvements to Standard Work

What the JD emphasized

  • 2+ years in a Cat Remanufacturing facility OR Equivalent Previous Manufacturing Experience OR a Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing or engineering related field
  • Experience reading and understanding blueprints
  • Experience reading and understanding precision gauges/torque and torque devices
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving problems, recognizing the need for support, and creating teams to accomplish tasks if necessary.
  • Experience with process flow diagrams, control plans, and PFMEA.
