Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer Technician II position located in the Corinth, MS facility. This position will ensure production Value Stream goals are met in PQVC by providing support for the Value Stream Manufacturing Engineers in the execution of project implementation and daily support of the operations team as warranted. The candidate will assist the Engineers in developing print packages for RFQ’s, tooling and fixtures, CI card completion, Standard Work and other QSI / ETQ documentation creation and maintenance, and related tasks as needed.
This position will be supporting all paint, post-paint, marine/military engine assembly, and block spin test and packing processes at LEF.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Operator should have attention to detail and be self-motivated.
- Operator will work in a team environment.
- Operator is expected to cross train in other areas of operations to provide flexibility within the job classification scope.
- Support NPI and implementation of updated processes
- Support installation and run off of new equipment
- Trial and runoff of new tools and associated training of group leaders and operators
- Investigation and implementation of VS CI cards
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment problems
- Evaluating and updating standard work, process flow, control plan, FMEA documents
- Interfacing with operations and other cross functional groups in addition to engineering team members
- Expected to determine and perform root cause corrective analyses and actions.
- Attend and actively participate in safety and team meetings
- MES work instructions / MBOM improvements
- Purchase needed tooling and supplies through Caterpillar’s Purchase Order System
- Attend and actively participate in safety and team meetings
- Attend and actively participate in LEAN events and workshops
**Basic Qualifications: **
- 2+ years in a Cat Remanufacturing facility OR Equivalent Previous Manufacturing Experience OR a Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing or engineering related field
- High proficiency of PC skills including e-mail, Microsoft Office applications
- Experience reading and understanding blueprints
- Experience reading and understanding precision gauges/torque and torque devices
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving problems, recognizing the need for support, and creating teams to accomplish tasks if necessary.
- Experience with process flow diagrams, control plans, and PFMEA.
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- 2+ years in mid-range engine assembly or paint processes
- Experience working with bill of materials
- Experience with military and marine engine assembly processes
- Experience with paint and paint equipment
- Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, Creo, Teamcenter, etc.)
- Associate's/Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing related field
- Currently enrolled in or desire to pursue additional education in a manufacturing related field.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- High degree of accountability for product and processes
- Ability to learn new products and processes and to evaluate and recommend improvements to Standard Work
Physical Requirements:
- Job may be physically demanding at times and must be able to handle high volume fast pace operation.
- May walk, squat and bend for intervals of 15-30 minutes
- Must be able to wear proper PPE.
Job Bid Eligibility Requirements:

Compensation & Benefits Offered! Starting hourly pay rate of $26.55 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience) This position is 1st shift Work Hours: 5AM-3PM (Mon-Thurs) 40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime 80 hours of vacation with an additional 3 days (hours dependent on work schedule) of Paid Time Off (PTO) (all prorated based on hire date) 10 Paid holidays Climate controlled work environment – most areas 100% 401k match up to 6% offered on day 1 of employment Health, dental, vision, & life insurance offered on day 1 of employment Potential annual performance increase Clean/safe work environment Paid holiday shut down at the end of the year (dependent upon business needs)

Summary Pay Range:
$26.55 - $34.45
