Corporate Counsel, Commercial Legal - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

Salesforce is seeking a Corporate Counsel for their Commercial Legal team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role will provide legal support for technology service agreements, advise on regional laws and regulations, and collaborate with internal teams on privacy, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in cloud computing, AI, data privacy, and intellectual property laws, with strong drafting and negotiation skills in Arabic and English.

What you'd actually do

  1. Advise on KSA and broader Middle East laws, regulations, and procedures, and draft, negotiate, and advise on strategic technology service agreements with commercial and public sector customers and partners.
  2. Provide legal counsel and regulatory guidance to executives and business teams on matters related to the sale of cloud-based, on-premises, and professional services across the region.
  3. Collaborate closely with internal teams including privacy, government affairs, security, and compliance to ensure agreements are consistent with internal policies, and provide support on existing contracts and any potential disputes.
  4. Contribute to the development of legal training materials, support responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and actively participate in cross-regional team projects and the ongoing development of the EMEA Commercial Legal team.

Skills

Required

  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in a reputable law firm or as in-house commercial counsel within a large organization operating in the Middle East
  • substantial experience in KSA commercial and technology contracting
  • Demonstrated expertise in cloud computing, AI, data privacy, and intellectual property laws
  • knowledge of Islamic Sharia law and public procurement processes
  • Outstanding legal drafting, negotiation, and communication skills in both Arabic and English
  • Business fluency in both Arabic and English

Nice to have

  • Qualified lawyer within a major jurisdiction and/or KSA
  • Master's Degree; an LLM or additional studies in an English-speaking country is a plus
  • Experience with US revenue recognition standards
