Corporate Counsel II

Seeking a Corporate Counsel II with a strong litigation foundation to transition into a broad-based product counsel role. This role will partner closely with product and technology teams, advising on a wide range of matters at the intersection of AI, product development, and business operations, including AI governance, data use, bias, transparency, and applicable regulations. The role also involves risk management, dispute readiness, and business/cross-functional support.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as counsel for product teams, advising on product development, feature launches, terms of service, and user-facing policies.
  2. Provide guidance on legal and regulatory matters related to artificial intelligence, including AI governance frameworks, data use, bias, transparency, and applicable regulation (e.g., EU AI Act, emerging U.S. state laws).
  3. Advise on intellectual property matters related to software, AI-generated content, and product features.
  4. Identify and proactively address legal risks in product roadmaps and cross-functional initiatives.
  5. Collaborate with Privacy, Security, and Trust & Safety teams to ensure product compliance with applicable laws.

Skills

Required

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing
  • 4-7 years of experience, with law firm litigation experience strongly preferred
  • Strong litigation foundation, including experience with dispute assessment, outside counsel management, and discovery
  • Experience advising on technology or product-related legal matters
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Understanding of AI tools and how to utilize them to expedite and streamline workflows

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with AI, machine learning, or emerging technology legal issues
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • In-house experience at a technology company
  • Experience with intellectual property, particularly software or AI-related IP
  • Comfort with fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Strong business acumen and product intuition
