Salesforce is seeking a Corporate Counsel, Product Legal to partner with Platform and Engineering teams, providing strategic legal counsel on product lifecycle, data management, AI governance, and enterprise cloud technology. The role involves advising on GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, FedRAMP, EU AI Act, and ethical AI principles, as well as drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as a trusted advisor to product and engineering teams developing new and existing Clouds, products and features.
  2. Conduct deep-dive legal reviews of new features to ensure products are enterprise-ready and comply with GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific regulations (HIPAA, FedRAMP).
  3. Provide legal guidance for the use of machine learning and generative AI within data integration workflows, ensuring compliance with the EU AI Act and Salesforce’s policies and Ethical AI principles.
  4. Partner with M&A integration teams to harmonize contracting processes, terms and conditions, and legal frameworks between Salesforce and newly acquired businesses.
  5. Partner with Commercial Legal and Privacy teams to draft and negotiate complex product-specific terms, Data Processing Addendums, partner agreements, and terms of service.

Skills

Required

  • Juris Doctor degree
  • active membership in at least one US state bar
  • 5+ years of combined experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department
  • Deep understanding of AI, data privacy and security laws (EU AI Act, GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and their application to data management platforms
  • Familiarity with AI/ML legal and ethical considerations, including emerging AI regulations
  • Comfort discussing complex technical architectures, APIs, etc.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Excellent business judgment and the proven ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in fast-paced environments
  • Proven ability to build relationships across Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams to drive consensus on high-stakes risks

Nice to have

  • Prior experience supporting data integration, ETL, or middleware products
  • Experience with infrastructure and log governance
  • Prior exposure to API agreements, developer terms, and platform ecosystems
  • CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification
