Whatnot is seeking an experienced Corporate Security Operations Manager to oversee the physical safety of its people across offices, live events, and field engagements. This role involves both strategic program development and tactical execution, including managing third-party vendors, developing security playbooks, and assessing/mitigating risks for various engagements. The position requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the security standard across all Whatnot global office locations
  2. Develop repeatable security playbooks for events ranging from intimate seller meetups to large-scale live activations
  3. Assess and mitigate risk for seller engagements, category activations, and community-based initiatives
  4. Assist in the initial design and oversight of Whatnot’s travel security framework supporting domestic and international travel

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years of physical security experience
  • Extensive depth in multi-office security operations
  • Solid experience in events/field security
  • Track record of managing external vendors to high standards
  • Experience running cross-functional partnerships
  • Ability to communicate in plain language to non-security stakeholders
  • Willingness to work in office 2-3 days a week
  • Willingness to travel at least 25% of the time

Nice to have

  • Experience in high-growth tech companies, marketplaces, or live-event businesses
  • International office or event security experience
  • Hands-on experience with global travel security programs
