This role is for a lawyer specializing in AI and algorithms within Uber's EMEA Legal Team. The position involves advising on the interpretation and compliance with AI regulations, particularly the EU AI Act, and partnering with product, data science, and engineering teams to ensure responsible AI deployment. The role requires developing legal frameworks for AI risk management and providing tactical guidance to stakeholders. It is not a hands-on AI development role but focuses on the legal and regulatory aspects of AI products.

Effectively communicate potential impacts to colleagues across roles and seniority levels.
  3. Own, manage and autonomously drive forward product counseling in relation to product launches in EMEA, including providing advice to the Amsterdam-based engineering team. Deliver tailored advice and training to employees working on AI systems and products.
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and review product specifications and system changes to identify potential policy, safety or legal issues related to Uber’s existing and planned AI deployments.
  5. Provide pragmatic advice and risk mitigation recommendations to cross-functional teams.
